Photography Assignment
Within this assignment, we use the technical knowledge and skills of photography and immediately apply this to the assignment. in which you depict data information to photographic image.
The assignment:
Data is often abstract and factual information but does not speak directly to the imagination.
Within this assignment you will turn this abstract information into a catching photographic representation.
You will start by looking for fictitious or non-fictitious data to visualize.
Based on these data you will make a concept of how to visualize and execute this.
The pictures you will make yourself and may be edited and manipulated in Photoshop.
The idea is to have a strong final image. This will be presented on a A2 poster on which the image is strong and text (not necessarily) plays a minimal role.
Objectives:
- Applying the basic techniques of photography;
- Creating a provocative and technically good photographic imagination based on data.
- Being able to translate abstract data into a form in which creativity and imagination are visible.
Lessons schedule:
Week 1:
Wednesday - Basic photography technique
Thursday - Further photography technique (first thoughts)
Week 2:
Monday - First visualizations and reflection
Tuesday - More work and reflection
Week 3:
Tuesday: Work presentation and explaining work / process
