Inspiration: The Internet Map

This interactive visualization shows a huge collection of websites in order of size (amount of traffic) and links to other websites. It's interesting to see how websites relate to each other in terms of size and linkage. Two websites that are well linked are placed close to one another. The different colours represent the countries websites originate from. This also shows that the internet network defies geographical borders. What I like is that this visualization made up of thousands of elements gives insights which the elements seperately can not.
